ROYAL OAK CHAMBER
UPDATES WEBSITE

ROYAL OAK, Mich. (December 28, 2006) – The Royal Oak Chamber of Commerce has updated its website and changed its Internet domain name to
www.royaloakchamber.com, according to Executive Director Bill Allen.

“The website has been structured to appeal to the two most common groups of people who seek information from chambers of commerce:  Visitors and people who are relocating,” Allen said.  “It will continue to be a valuable information source for new and prospective members, too.”

Users can now search for businesses in the online directory by name or by category.  They will also find clearer navigation, an online calendar for chamber and community events, online dues payment, and opportunities to advertise on the site.

Users can take a three-dimensional cyber tour of downtown Royal Oak using technology provided by Virtualeyes.  They can “walk” down the street or click on links for specific businesses.  The interactive map also identifies parking locations and ATM machines.

“Our patent pending technology, branded Cplanet.com, combines an interactive three-dimensional experience, similar to a video game, with the latest in two-dimensional digital mapping technology to offer Internet users both a street level and aerial perspective of Royal Oak,” said Jason Ryan, vice president of sales for Virtualeyes.

Christine Chubenko of What Webs We Weave redesigned the site.

            Traffic to the former URL,
www.virtualroyaloak.com
, will be redirected.
